Speaking to The Mail On Sunday, the 'Murder on the Dancefloor' singer said that as she goes about her daily life like anyone else, people often assume that it can't really be her.
"What tends to happen more and more is that people say, 'Has anyone told you that you look like Sophie Ellis-Bextor?'" she said.
"Because I do my own shopping and travel by public transport, people probably assume it's not me. They expect me to be travelling by private jet and that's not my life at all."
She also admitted that if she doesn't want to talk to people, she sometimes pretends to be French.
