Did Jessica Simpson Pay For Her Own Engagment Ring?

By now, you’ve heard all about Jessica Simpson’s engagement to her beau, Eric Johnson. You’ve also have probably seen the ring by now.

If not, it’s a pretty little number that features a huge ruby, surrounded by diamonds. Rumor has it that it cost at least $100,000. However, there are some questions over who purchased it.

Johnson is a former NFL player, the operative word is “former” meaning he no longer receives a paycheck from the National Footbal League. Reportedly, he doesn’t have a job, save following Jessica around and keeping her company.

Perhaps she’ll give him a job and put him on the payroll. But anyhoo back to the subject of who paid for the ring.Some say that Jessica did, seeing that Johnson doesn’t have a job. There is some talk that perhaps Johnson’s family paid for it, considering the fact that they are reportedly pretty wealthy.

No one is saying of course who forked over the money for the ring. Perhaps Jessica will release a statement via her publicist but probably not.
