Michelle Obama: New Queen of Forbes’ World’s 100 Most Powerful Women

Not only is Michelle Obama holding the first lady position of the United States of America, she is also the one who heads Forbes’ list of World’s 100 Most Powerful Women. Forbes, an international magazine that is pretty notorious when it comes to coming up with lists has chosen the people they’ve put on their ranks as women who were successful in shaping some of the most important agenda-setting conversations at present and those that are campaigning meaningful messages to their audience and the world.

Obama seemed to be the one who perfectly fitted these criteria as she was able to make queen of Hollywood Oprah Winfrey only third on the list. Skipping 40 places from last year’s list, Mrs. Obama was finally able to topple German chancellor Angela Merkel’s four year hold on the first spot.

Moreover, Forbes list has always been a controversial piece in Tinseltown since there are also many Hollywood personalities who make it on the list. So which celebrities made it close to Obama’s number one spot?

The answer is none other than Lady Gaga who landed on the number 7 spot of the list. The performer’s songs are what made her tower over other Washington personalities such as power brokers Nancy Pelosi and Sonia Sotomayor.

Other Hollywood personalities who appeared on the list are Benyonce (9th spot), Angelina Jolie (21st spot), Sarah Jessica Parker (45th spot) and Gisele Bundchen (72nd spot).
