“West Is West” is a 2010 British comedy drama film, which is a sequel to the 1999 film “East Is East”. Its predecessor East is East won on the Alexander Korda Award for Best British Film at the BAFTA Awards.
The story of the film has been written by Ayub Khan Din who is the son of a British Pakistani. It is set in a British household of mixed-ethnicity, with a Pakistani father and an English mother in Salford, Greater Manchester, and revolves around George Khan (played by Om Puri), the father is worried that his youngest son is turning his back on his Pakistani heritage, and decides to take him for a visit to Pakistan.
The soundtrack of the film features three Pakistani songs, one performed by the Pakistani playback singer Naheed Akhtar and the other two are from the second season of Coke Studio. See Details Below:
