Plotwise, Legendary is an earnest high school wrestling pic that might've come straight out of a build-your-own-Karate Kid kit, complete with Teen Underdog (Devon Graye), Single Mom (Patricia Clarkson), and Mysterious Teacher (WWE star John Cena). But without the pep-talk fervor of that movie — the Jaden Smith or Ralph Macchio edition, take your pick — all you've got is a well-meaning dud that'll put you out faster than a sleeper hold.
