Damon Dash has reportedly blamed the economic recession on his past financial troubles.
Dash also said that he believes that the media unfairly scrutinised his money problems following the sale of his shares in Roc-A-Fella Records and Rocawear clothing.
Speaking to YRB, the hip-hop mogul said: "I started to go through a lot of bad press all of a sudden. Like, the recession hit everybody, but me being a businessman and motherf**kers getting caught up in the storm, all my issues were completely public.
"And completely exaggerated. So the recession s**t happens, I don't give a f**k."
