In 2010, the mega-budget films and movies of the so-called biggest directors of Bollywood, began to fall like nine pins. People were clearly looking for entertainment and the movies that are listed below severely lacked the ‘E’ factor. Let us go through some of the biggest flops in Bollywood for the year 2010
Raavan: Made with a budget of more than Rs. 100 crores, Raavan was a colossal failure. A gratingly, boring movie; it failed to appeal every section of the audience
Kites: Kites was a big flop in India, though it did work in the West. Though it opened to a thunderous opening, the figures began to dwindle. The biggest reason cited for the movie’s failure was the language issue that was not easy for viewers to comprehend.
Action Replayy: Action Replayy added to Aishwarya Rai and Akshay Kumar’s flop quota. The movie was pathetically made; it looked like insipid from the beginning to the end.
Aakrosh: Aakrosh was approved by the critics but the general public preferred to give it a thumbs-down to the heavy content that hardly had any entertainment.
Guzaarish: Sanjay Leela Bhansali’s Guzaarish was found to be out place, artificial and error-laden for many; and people preferred to do the magical trick and vanish from the theaters, instead.
Khelein Hum Jee Jaan Se: Khelein Hum Jee Jaan Se’s slow first half and the lack of connect with the youth, were the biggest reasons for the film to get an unimpressive opening, after which it skid down to obscurity.
Jhootha Hi Sahi: Another John Abraham fiasco, an insipid plot, poor performances and bad film-making ruined its prospects in the box office.
