Nicole Richie says marriage ceremony was 'magical'

Just married Nicole Richie has described her wedding ceremony with Joel Madden as 'magical'.

The known socialite and friend of Paris Hilton tied the knot with the 'Good Charlotte' rocker at her father Lionel''s Los Angeles estate on Dec 11, 2010.

The couple's daughter Harlow, two, was a flower girl and their son Sparrow, 15 months, was a ring-bearer at the French-themed nuptials.

Richie, who wore a gown inspired by Grace Kelly''s iconic wedding dress, also arranged for an elephant to be in the property's grounds, as the animal is associated with good luck.

She admitted that her big day was all she dreamed of.

"It was magical," the Daily Express quoted her as telling People.com.

However, Madden added, "It was the best night of my life."

Socialite Nicole Richie has tied the knot with rocker Joel Madden in a simple ceremony.

They got married in a traditional ceremony Saturday. The couple, who had been dating for the past four years and have two children together, invited about 130 guests including family and friends. Madden's twin brother and Good Charlotte bandmate Benji Madden were among them.

Richie's father and music superstar Lionel Richie set up two tents for the ceremony.

"They wanted an Old Hollywood, glamorous feel to their wedding," people quoted a source as saying. "They're going all-out with the decor. Nicole wanted a memorable, elegant affair for only their closest friends and family on their special day."

Nicole Richie vets dad Lionel's partners

Lionel Richie has revealed that his daughter Nicole has made him promise not to date younger women, and insists on 'vetting' his prospective partners.

The 61-year-old singer told The Sun that he struggles to recognise women's ages. As a result, he relies on his children to help him decide whether his new girlfriends are suitable.

He said: "I find it so hard to distinguish women's ages now. You see a girl walking down the street and Nicole will say, 'Dad! That girl's 18 years old!' and I think, 'No way.'

"My children have to vet (my girlfriends) now. Nicole said to me a long while ago, 'Dad I won't date anyone your age if you don't date anyone my age. Deal?'"

Nicole undecided about wedding dress

Socialite Nicole Richie has revealed she is still undecided on her wedding dress.

The reality TV star-turned fashion designer who announced her engagement to Joel Madden last month admits she has even thought about what gown she wants to wear when she walks down the aisle, reports celebrifi.com.

"I have not decided on a dress. I haven't even thought about it," she said.

Although she is yet to look for a dress, Richie recently revealed she is ready to start planning her nuptials.

"I've been on the road. I just got home, and so it's really going to be now that's the time for me to sit down and think about what I want," she said. Although the 28-year-old beauty is ready to start organising her wedding she and Madden who raise two children together, daughter Harlow, two, and six-month-old son Sparrow are yet to pick a date.
