Enrique Iglesias's new album goes double platinum

Spanish singer Enrique Iglesias Tuesday received a double platinum certification in the US and Puerto Rico for his album "Euphoria", which has been one of the top-selling releases ever since it hit store shelves.


The album, the ninth that Iglesias has released in his musical career, went on sale July 6, 2010, and was in first place on the charts for 11 non-consecutive weeks, according to Billboard magazine.

In addition, according to his label, Universal Music, this new work by the Spanish singer became the year's top-selling Latino album.

Also, the first single in Spanish on the album - "Cuando me enamoro" - was in first place on Billboard's Hot Latin Songs list for 17 non-consecutive weeks.

Iglesias also has had great success with numbers like "I Like It", a duet with rapper Pitbull, which went triple platinum upon having sold more than three million online copies, and "Tonight", the second single in English, which went platinum with more than a million digital sales.

Currently, the performer is on his "Euphoria Tour" in the US, kicking the project off Jan 29 by filling the Jose Miguel Agrelot Colosseum in Puerto Rico and being joined onstage by the Puerto Rican duet Wisin and Yandel and by Pitbull.

Iglesias and Kournikova secretly married?

Anna Kournikova has fuelled rumours of a secret marriage to Enrique Iglesias after being pictured in public with apparent engagement and wedding rings.

The Russian tennis star, who has been dating Iglesias since 2002, was spotted leaving a Hollywood eatery on Friday night proudly sporting a sparkling wedding band on her ring finger.

The Daily Mail claims that Kournikova was also wearing an 'engagement ring' - which she was first seen with last month - despite previously claiming during an appearance on The Graham Norton Show that she saw no point in getting married.

The status of the pair's relationship has long been speculated upon, as neither party has ever confirmed their engagement or marriage even though Kournikova had been seen sporting an engagement-style ring as far back as July 2009.

Iglesias stated back in October that he has no intention of marrying Kournikova.

'Iglesias, Kournikova are together'

Singer Enrique Iglesias's representative has dismissed rumours that the pop star has split from his longterm girlfriend Anna Kournikova.

"They are definitely together. Enrique has been out of the country on a promotional tour, so maybe that's where the speculation is coming from," contactmusic.com quoted his representative as saying.

The singer has been dating the former tennis star since 2002 but despite their eight-year relationship, the couple has consistently denied having any plans to marry.

I love getting naked

Enrique Iglesias has confessed that he greatly enjoys being naked and does "stupid things" whenever he strips off.

The 'I Like It' singer, who recently performed a nude water ski to celebrate Spain's World Cup victory, revealed to Bang Showbiz that he regularly takes his clothes off in front of his equally liberal friends.

"I don't know if I'm cool with it, but I'm not extremely embarrassed," he said. "I kind of like making fun of myself.

"I have five good friends and one of them is an exhibitionist, so I think we all follow him. Whenever he gets naked we all get naked and do stupid things."

Despite his own confidence with showing flesh, Iglesias admitted his concern that Pussycat Dolls singer Nicole Scherzinger wasn't comfortable filming the raunchy video for their new song 'Heartbeat'.

"I'm a dude at the end of the day," he said. "It's a lot easier for a guy than a girl. She had the difficult task. But she was a trooper and the director made it very easy and made it look good."
