Hrithik, Kareena in Imtiaz Ali's next?

Hrithik Roshan and Kareena Kapoor who were earlier seen in Kabhi Khushi Kabhi Gham, Yaadein, Mujhse Dosti Karoge, Main Prem Ki Deewani Hoon would be seen together after many years in Jab We Met director Imtiaz Ali's next, reports Mid Day.

A source however says the casting might not happen at all. "But that's far from true. Don't they know history? Bebo was supposed to be part of Kaho Naa Pyar Hai, remember? Though she's done films with her once special friend in a lot of movies and has maintained cordial relations, the past does haunt, no?"

But Kareena Kapoor who must be keen on repeating her Jab We Met success might take up the offer with or without Hrithik.

Kareena Kapoor joins Shakti campaign, bats for women

Bollywood actress Kareena Kapoor has agreed to support NDTV's campaign Shakti, aimed at fighting violence against women.

Kareena feels very strongly for the cause of women's emancipation, and hopes for their betterment in India, according to a source close to the actress.

"Kareena Kapoor joining NDTV for the Shakti campaign is a major boost for us, because she represents the modern, fearless woman of today and her endorsement will enable others who look up to her as a role model to speak out as well."

Storm in Japanese garden over Salman-Kareena shoot

The shooting of Bollywood film Bodyguard starring Salman Khan and Kareena Kapoor in the Pune Okayama Friendship Garden (POFG) has kicked up a storm of protest. Members of the Association of Friends of Japan (AFJ) and other regulars are miffed that people were denied use of the unique garden for the duration of the shoot and add that the facility was damaged by the film crew.

Angry with the Pune Municipal Corporation (PMC) for allowing the shoot, members of AFJ now plan to take up the matter with civic body, the state government and even the Okayama state government.

"We are very upset over the PMC's granting of permission for shooting at the garden.

It is shocking that we were not even informed about it, " said Sameer Khale, president, AFJ.

The PMC laid the garden with Japanese Government funds and technical support on the premises of the Pu La Deshpande Udyan on Sinhagad Road in 2003. This is the first time a Bollywood film is being shot there.

The shooting took place over the past three days. Over 2, 000 people who visit the POFG regularly were stopped from entering the premises. The PMC was paid Rs 50, 000 rent by the producer for the three days of shooting.

"I got to know about the shooting when I saw a crowd. We are taking up this issue with the PMC and the state government, with whom the agreement was made by the Okayama state to create a Japanese garden, " Khale said.

Anant Kulkarni, a senior citizen residing in the area, said that the PMC does not allow even visitors who are charged an entry fee of Rs 5 to step on the beautiful lawns, but it allowed the shooting in which the lawn was used in a big way. Kulkarni said the shooting also resulted in some damage to the lawns.

Mandira Chachar, POFG ticket window clerk, said, "We faced a lot of inconvenience as the garbage created by the crew of the film was a lot and out staff members had to do all the cleaning. On Sunday many senior citizens went back disappointed as the garden was closed the entire day. There is a total loss of Rs 10, 000 in revenue over these three days of shooting."

Gardener Viththal Chandare said that food for the crew was prepared on the premises of Pu La Deshpande Udyan and plastic plates and bottles were strewn around.

"We all heaved a sigh of relief after the crew left late in the evening on Monday, " he said.

Kareena to get her curves back for sexiness

It is not without reason that she is often referred to as the 'female SRK of Bollywood'. Like her male counterpart, Kareena Kapoor, too, has a penchant to grab the spotlight, for all the things the actress does (and sometimes doesn't)!

While the nation has not yet forgotten the size-zero figure made popular by our very own Bebo, the news is that Kareena is trying to put on weight for the last couple of months.

While this may come across as a bad news for all, who tried their best to get rid of the extra kilos in an attempt to emulate Kareena Kapoor, the sexy Bollywood lass has decided that it is time to bring back her own plumper self again.

When questioned by the media on the sudden change in her statistics, Kareena Kapoor laughed away saying that little did she expect that her weight would one day become a national issue, adding at the end that, it is her way of pleasing her fans, who prefer the slightly fatter Kareena!

Bebo has just stepped on 30 and with it has also completed a decade in the industry. A combination of hits and misses, Kareena Kapoor's career graph has surely been an eyesore for many of her peers.

Currently shooting for partner Saif Ali Khan's venture “Agent Vinod”, Kareena rules out getting back to her size-zero status even for Karan Johar's “Short Term Shaadi”.

Bebo, Saif crazy about Depp

Kareena Kapoor's birthday plans for September 21 have undergone a change. Bebo was to originally fly to Paris with her mother, sister Karisma and beau Saif Ali Khan.

Now Babita Kapoor and Karisma have dropped out because Karisma's children are too young and the actress doesn't want to put them through too much travel in a span of just four days.

Saif is now taking his girlfriend for a four-day trip to the most romantic city in the world. While the actors are likely to stay at the Ritz Hotel, they will be having the birthday dinner at the Mandala Ray, a restaurant near the Champs Elysees. This restaurant and bar is co-owned by Johnny Depp, Sean Penn and John Malkovich.

Bebo says, "Both Saif and I are crazy about Johnny Depp. And Saif just thought it is appropriate to buy me my birthday dinner at Johnny's restaurant." The actress won't reveal anything further... but one hears that Saif has another 'surprise' planned for her in connection to Johnny Depp. But this one is truly a surprise and Saif refuses to divulge anything till after the 21st.

Kareena's 30th birthday plans revealed

Kareena Kapoor will bring in her 30th birthday on Sep 21 in Latvia, where she is busy shooting for Agent Vinod with beau Saif Ali Khan.

Since Agent Vinod is Saif's home production, he and Kareena are planning to fly down to be with Kareena's mother (Babita) in Latvia for the birthday.

Her sister Karisma cannot join them because of her baby and Kareena expresses helplessness about her impossible schedules.

"What can I do? I barely have time to breathe. I've just come to Mumbai for two days. I've been away for 25 days. Now I fly off to Latvia for over a month's shooting," said Kareena.

Talking about her future, she said: "I'm now entering a new phase in my life and career. This year I hope to conquer many new peaks. By god's grace Agent Vinod and Ra.One are shaping up very well."

Kareena has also signed Madhur Bhandarkar's Heroine, but the film's shooting has been postponed. Confirming the news, she said: "Madhur is still working on the script.

We start shooting the film when the script is ready in the next three months. Right now Madhur is busy with Dil To Bachcha Hai Jee.

Kareena refuses to make love on screen

Though Kareena Kapoor made news with her intimate scenes with beau Saif in Kurbaan, she is not ready to get steamy with five different men in Madhur Bhandarkar's next. The actress has reportedly asked for a change in the script.

A source informs Mumbai Mirror, “Kareena might have done an intimate sequence recently in Kurbaan, but that was only because it was with Saif. Otherwise she is not keen on getting up close and personal with other co-stars.”

Kareena's character in the film has similarities with Smita Patil’s character in Shyam Benegal’s Bhumika.

The source tells the tabloid, "Benegal’s film was a look at the life of the 1940’s actress Hansa Wadkar. Bhandarkar’s film on is based on several heroines, from Marilyn Monroe to Divya Bharti. It follows a heroine who flits from one relationship into another, just like Bhumika. Smita might have performed many intimate sequences with unabashed authenticity, but Kareena doesn’t want to enter that space.”

Bebo hasn't confirmed she has asked for a change in the script.

She was quoted by the tabloid as saying, "We were always supposed to start next year. Madhur is still working on the script. We start shooting the film when the script is ready in the next three months. Right now Madhur is busy with Dil To Bachcha Hai Jee."
