I will marry in Egypt and nowhere else

It is time for wedding bells. Celina Jaitly will become Mrs Peter Haag on September 23 at a very private wedding and only the couple's family and close friends will be present.

The actress had planned not to get married before 2012. But now that the couple is sure of their feelings for one another, waiting seems futile.

The wedding will take place in Egypt despite the anti-government unrest in the country.

Incidentally, Jaitly is the country's tourism ambassador.

Only in Egypt
Says the shaken but confident bride-to-be, "I'm sure everything will be back to normal in Egypt by September.

Peter and I will take our marriage vows in Egypt and nowhere else. We had decided that when we decided to get married. That won't change."

The actress is in constant touch with the Egyptian authorities on the situation in the country.

She adds, "I'm very much in touch with Mr Khaled el Bakley the ambassador of Egypt to India, and Mr Adel el Masery, the director of Egyptian tourism.

They have ensured that every help is provided to Indian nationals stranded in Egypt.

I will visit Egypt as soon as it's possible for me to travel to the country. And yes, things better get to normal soon. Meri shaadi ka sawaal hai."

Share thoughts, prayers
She feels there is no cause for worry, "The situation always looks far more alarming from the outside than it actually is." Celina last visited Egypt last month.

" In fact, I spent an entire month there until Dec 15, 2010 for a shoot. Everything was perfectly normal and Egypt was as beautiful as ever.

I attended the Cairo Film Festival as jury for 12 days and shot for approximately a week for an ad campaign all over Cairo without a clue about any incident as such taking over Egypt.

I urge people to come forward and share their thoughts, prayers and feelings for Egypt and its people."

Celina has initiated a campaign for peace in Egypt on her official website. "It's called Pray For Egypt. Twitter followers are invited to offer their prayers for peace in the region, " she concludes serenely.

Jaitley 'hopes for positive Egypt outcome'

Celina Jaitley says that she hopes that there will be a positive outcome to the current protests in Egypt.

The Bollywood actor, who has a long-standing relationship with the country through her work as brand ambassador, spoke about the situation to The Times of India.

Jaitley commented: "The winds of change are blowing through Egypt. Whatever happens next will impact Egypt and its people in a big way. My prayers are that, whatever the outcome, it should be of a positive nature."

The star, who recently appeared on the jury of the Cairo Film Festival, added: "My only fear is that extremist elements in Egypt might manipulate the current situation for nefarious ends."

The actress revealed that there was no indication of protest during her last visit to the region at the end of 2010.

A number of Hindi films including Singh is Kinng and Kabhi Kushi Kabhie Gham have used Cairo as a shooting location.

Egypt wonderful to get married

Celina Jaitley is ready to take the plunge with her Dubai-based beau Peter Haag. And she says she would love to get married in picturesque Egypt whenever she decides to tie the knot.

So the Celina-Peter wedding is being planned for the year-end in Egypt, for which she is a tourism ambassador. "They want to play host to my wedding. You know Naomi Campbell got married in Egypt. It'd be a wonderful wedding in that beautiful country," Celina said.

But she is in no hurry.

"I want to give it a year. Right now, I've so many endorsements and movies. Peter is not comfortable with the media glare. I guess he will have to get used to it," the former Miss India said.

Celina and Peter Haag, who is an Austrian by nationality, exchanged rings at a very private ceremony last year.

"There were just my parents... no one else. Yes, Peter and I exchanged rings during Durga Puja. It was an auspicious time and we had my parents' blessings. We don't call it an engagement because that term is not auspicious in our family. My last engagement eight years ago didn't work out. My parents said, 'Just keep the matter quiet and decide to get married whenever you do'."

Celina's brother Vikrant is getting married in March or April. "First he will get married, then me," she said.

Peter has been working in Dubai for the last nine years in the hotel business and Celina says it was a "quirk of fate" that has united them.

"By some quirk of fate I kept going to Dubai repeatedly for my work. That's how we kept meeting. And then of course I started visiting Dubai for Peter. If I have the time I will spend it with the man I love. We have a house in Dubai now. Peter doesn't want to visit India that often," she revealed.

Celina, who has acted in films like "Golmaal Returns" and "No Entry", met Peter through her maternal uncle.

"He's my maama's (uncle) best friend. My maama lives in Dubai and that's how I met Peter. We've been dating for less than year now. I'm one person who has never gone for random relationships. Peter and I wanted to keep it quiet for as long as we were not sure of where the relationship was heading. I've become really superstitious... Now I'm certain Peter is the person," the actress said.

Celina Jaitley 'in secret Dubai wedding'

Celina Jaitley is reported to have got married in a secret ceremony outside India.

The No Entry star had a low-key wedding in Dubai with hotelier Peter Stagg, The Times of India claims.

A source close to the actress revealed: "I will not be surprised if she has settled down with Peter in Dubai. If they solemnised their relationship, it must have happened there. Celina is hardly seen in Mumbai these days."

The 29-year-old celebrity, who has become recognised for her gay rights activism in India, has not spoken publicly about her relationship with Stagg.

"We did not want our private life to be a spectacle. Everyone deserves privacy. How on earth will anyone benefit from what is going on between me and someone else? We like to live in our own world, which really does not concern anyone else," said the former beauty queen.

Jaitley will next be seen in Anees Bazmee's Thank You, releasing in April.

Celina Jaitley not ready for marriage

Celina Jaitley has told people to stop asking her why she is not married yet.

The Golmaal Returns actress, 28, said that she likes the thought of marriage but has no plans to tie the knot any time soon.

"FOR ALL WHO ARE ASKING ME Y AM I NOT MARRIED YET… WELL… Marriage is a great institution, but I'm not ready for an institution yet. LOL," she posted on Twitter.

Jaitley's latest films, Anees Bazmee's Run Bhola Run and Neeraj Vora's Thank You, will be released later this year.
