The actress, who famously played Sandy in Grease, told AFP at the Toronto Film Festival that she was in discussions to do the film.
She said: "I have a Bollywood-kind-of-film that is being talked about right now, but nothing concrete."
It was previously revealed that Newton-John's Grease co-star John Travolta might be meeting with Bollywood celebrities on his self-manned flight to Mumbai, planned for later this month.
