The singer, who last night picked up eight awards at the MTV VMAs, was recently reported to be training to become a minister in order to perform marriages for her gay fans.
A source told the Daily Star: "She has completed virtually all of the coursework. She sees this as a way of repaying the love her fans have shown her.
"This isn't a gimmick. She has a very strong belief system and has embraced God since she was a little girl."
Once GaGa is ordained, she will be able to refer to herself as a "reverend or pastor".
The popstar also announced the title of her new album at yesterday's event, called Born This Way.
