According to TMZ, the heiress has hired attorney David Chesnoff, who has previously represented celebrities such as David Copperfield, Suge Knight and Vince Neil.
Sources connected to the case told the website that it is "significant" that Hilton was released from jail without posting any bail, as it suggests she could have only had a small amount of cocaine.
They added that Hilton might not have been the actual owner of the substance.
Chesnoff is said to have secured Hilton's release from jail just hours after her arrest.
